VoxelPainter

Paint silhouettes on the walls of a box and carve them into a VDB volume.

Overview

What VoxelPainter does

Paint on the walls of a box you drag out in the viewport. A voxel is filled where the paintings agree, like carving a block from stencils, which makes clouds, smoke puffs and stylized volumes quick to shape.

VoxelPainter comes in two versions under one license: the original paints three walls, and VoxelPainter2 paints all six and blends each opposite pair by depth. Bake VDB writes the result as a density grid.
